CNS delivers internet connectivity to underserved community in Massachusetts

  Return to News Section

Chickasaw Network Services (CNS) has completed construction of the final portion of the Petersham Broadband Network, helping to bring internet connectivity to a previously underserved community in Petersham, Massachusetts. CNS recently completed the last 4,462 feet of the network, while also ensuring the preservation of the fragile and historic landscape along the cable path.

The new connectivity will enable the 15 residences along the last segment to connect to the internet for the first time. These underserved homes are part of the larger Petersham community that allows for more than 440 homes and businesses to subscribe to the network.

“We are delighted to be able to provide connectivity to a number of households in the Petersham community who previously didn’t have access to internet,” said Stephen Libonate, Vice President of Chickasaw Network Services. “We are excited to continue working to bring connectivity to subscribers throughout the region.”

Chickasaw Network Services has partnered with Matrix Design Group for the engineering of the network and is working to provide connectivity to all of the Petersham Broadband Network subscribers.
