Mike Mitchell, LLC Manager
Mr. Mitchell is a native of Ada, OK. His service to the Chickasaw Nation has been extensive. He was the first employee of Chickasaw Nation Industries following its federal charter in 1999, serving as the President and CEO for the new holding company. By 2002, he grew CNI into a company that exceeded $20+ million in annual revenue. Due to his commitment and service to the United States Army National Guard, he stepped down as CEO in 2002 and deployed overseas in support of Operation Armored Falcon (Operation Enduring Freedom). Upon his return, he assumed multiple executive positions until a second deployment in 2007-2008. After returning from his second deployment, he was tasked with duties serving as the Deputy Chief Operating Officer (DCO) and then Chief Operating Officer (COO). In 2017, Mr. Mitchell assumed the responsibility as President over the newly formed Defense Logistics Division of CNI. With a career spanning over 19 years with CNI, he has served in various roles supporting the growth of the company. Perhaps most impressive, under his leadership and tutelage, he has helped CNI grow into a company that has achieved $330 million in annual revenue and employ over 2,600 employees in 40 states.
CNI, as a Federally Recognized Tribal Entity, brings to bear several contracting advantages. The US Government has a unique opportunity to contract complex requirements on a single source basis to SBA-approved 8(a) entities without J&A up to $22M. This advantage provides accelerated contracting cycles and promotes an increased level of collaboration between the Government customer and CNI regarding requirements definition and solution development. This has proven to be beneficial in bringing solutions to the Army Industrial Bases and for supporting the Department of Defense key initiative of accelerating the military’s operational readiness levels.
Subcontracting with CNI Advantage also provides a unique opportunity for Prime Contractors. In accordance with FAR 19.703 and 43 U.S.C. 1626, tribally owned entities always contribute to the Prime Contractor’s small business credit regardless of business size when acting as a subcontractor.
