Overview:

The Data Engineer provides Google Cloud Platform and Google Workspace cloud support to DLA Energy to include BigQuery, Looker, Gemini, Vertex AI, Cloud Storage, AppSheet and other cloud and non-cloud tools.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Secret Clearance may be required.

  • Must be able to pass a customer background check for access to facilities, equipment and property which requires U.S. Citizenship.

  • Required to obtain/retain a government background investigation commensurate with position requirements. 

  • Certification at the Information Assurance Technical (IAT) III level required. These include CISSP, Associate CISSP, CASP, CCNP, CISA.

  • Google Cloud certification preferred.

  • Experience working successfully within a mature shared services-based capability for enterprise-level customers is preferred. 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Works with organizational data and project teams to standardize data analysis and management strategies. 

  • Work with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable AI/ML solutions.

  • Develops and implements data strategies for Enterprise level implementation. 

  • Analyzes and integrates the business rules and other training data utilized within the applications suite and validate the output data for accuracy and conformance to the input training data rules.

  • Supports requirements analysis, software and application development efforts, and innovation efforts. 

  • Develops, constructs, tests, and maintains data pipelines that ingest, transform, and load data for AI and ML applications.

  • Prepares and engineers features for ML pipelines and manage feature stores.

  • Assist in the strategy for building and refining foundational infrastructure for training, serving, and monitoring machine learning models.

  • Conducts after action data assessments and creating deliverables (plans, reports, briefings, etc.) for executive staff. 

  • Develops and enhances decision-making dashboards, collecting performance data and producing data visualizations in Looker Studio. 

  • Supports project management, logistics, and communication activities. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Master's degree and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.

The estimated pay range for this role is $135 to $165K, with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
