Overview:

The IT Asset Management Specialist is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to users within an organization and for ensuring that technology assets are, tracked, received, recovered, deployed, and retired in a controlled manner as well as fulfill requests for ordering hardware\software. Processes all incoming equipment, validates each shipment, and updates the asset inventory database. Updates Service Desk ticketing system with status of hardware/software requests. Submits and manages RMAs for return or exchange of equipment. Schedules vendor(s) to remove obsolete equipment and initiate disposal process. Serves as a backup to the IT Procurement Specialist.  This position is onsite in the Colorado Springs, CO area.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The ability to obtain, maintain and access classified information at the Secret level. 

  • Must possess Security+ certification.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Receives IT equipment delivered to Information Technology, including logging received equipment, verify their contents, ensure they match purchase order, storing it securely, conducting periodic inventories and logging distribution. 

  • Serves as a backup to the IT Procurement Specialist when required to generate and process Purchase Requests/Orders. 

  • Backups IT Procurement Specialist to Manage Mobile Phone accounts to include new requests, upgrades, reassignments, and decommissioning of lines. 

  • Ensures CMDB is kept up to date with current IT equipment to include network switches, servers, applications, and software. 

  • Ensures rotating stock of imaged computers are available for deployment at all times. 

  • Coordinates all equipment returns for employees leaving the company including license recovery. 

  • Manages licensing assignments and recovery for PDF and Office 365 for all employees. 

  • Tracks asset utilization and ensure assets not in use are recovered, inventoried, relocated, or disposed of in accordance with company policies and procedures. 

  • Coordinates with Facilities the movement of equipment between locations including generating shipping labels and researching shipments as needed. 

  • Initiates equipment repair, shipping them to manufacture and monitor their status for repair and/or replacement. 

  • Maintains and develops process for check in and check out of loaned equipment. 

  • Maintains and manages stockrooms, submits order requests for network equipment and PC accessories to maintain stockroom inventory levels up to date 

  • Conducts inventory and provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly asset reports. 

  • Responsible for following, supporting, and enforcing all internal control processes and procedures. 

  • Works closely with multiple departments to support IT operations. 

  • Assists with hardware removal/decommissioning in corporate office 

  • Assists in other job duties as assigned 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of one to two (1-2) years relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education/experience. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.

The estimated pay range for this role is $24 to $30, with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
