Overview:

The Digital Designer supports the federal client by building interactivity to enable learners to make choices, interact with the learning environment. Include compelling interactions to courses and use those interactions to motivate learners and produce animations and write realistic scenarios. Ensures consistency in designs and maintain alignment with USPTO branding and content imaging across all Agency platforms.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance level for access to classified information, systems, facilities, equipment, and property.

  • Bachelor’s degree in digital design, graphic design, and a minimum of four (4) years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience.

  • Experience required in 3D Modeling High Resolution Design and Simulation.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Provides layout composition by understanding how to manipulate course assets and content to create harmonious and balanced layouts which is important for enhancing usability for all learners.

  • Image sourcing and manipulation – skilled and understands how to use keyword search terms to find needed images. Knows the basics of manipulating and even creating their own images.

  • Builds interactivity to enable learners to make choices, interact with the screen, and control their learning environment. Include compelling interactions to courses and use those interactions to motivate learners. Also, will produce animations and write realistic scenarios.

  • Adheres to Section 508 compliance and other electronic and IT accessibility compliance laws and policies

  • Utilizes creativity when creating the appearance of a website and electronic course to make sure that it is appealing as well as functional.

  • Troubleshoots content to check and correct functional errors and malfunctions to fix any that are found.

  • Efficiently combines creativity, functionality, and technology to produce eye-catching and informative content.

  • Prepares briefs/ideas for each project and presents design ideas to relevant stakeholders.

  • Provides advice and guidance on the aesthetic for courses and training material.

  • Proven experience in a professional digital design role.

  • A portfolio of previous digital design work to showcase experience and creativity.

  • Ability to clearly present design ideas and concepts for e-learning projects.

  • Possess an eye for visual design to increase visual appeal of training courses

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in digital design, graphic design, and a minimum of four (4) years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is primarily performed in an office / home office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls.
