The Junior Test Engineer provides support to the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Program Executive Office – TRANSCOM (PEO-T). This position provides support to security engineering activities across the PEO-T for all security related IT activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

As a member of a testing team, supports the process of formulating test cases based on system requirements and specifications.
Devises or modifies procedures to test a unit or a system as a whole.
Performs test cases, documents the result, and tracks changes.
Prepares detailed specifications from which program bugs will be corrected and follows up with additional tests to ensure proper functional and system behavior per spec.
Participates in agile testing practices, writes manual and automated test scripts, and uses automated testing tools.
Develops and maintains automated test cases for initial validation of features.
Participates in day-to-day Agile activities.
Analyzes WSDL and Schema contracts for quality and testability.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.
Associate's degree and a minimum of one (1) year relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGRISTRATION
This position requires Secret Security Clearance
JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Experience reviewing test plans, cases, procedures and reports for all product releases for completeness, consistency and applicability to the requirements.
Experience providing support for the development of test and support documentation and building and evaluating Test Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP).
Experience identifying, documenting, testing and verifying Incident Reports (IR) and Software, Trouble Reports (STR), and provide system impact analysis.
Possesses expertise to witness applicable developmental testing and produce Test Analysis Reports (TAR) to document results and recommendations.
Experience delivering support to plan, coordinate and perform test events, such as Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E).
Ability to support and collaborate with external test organizations, e.g., Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center’s (AFOTEC) and Joint Interoperability Test Center (JITC).
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
