SUMMARY

The SCCM Administrator provides support to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. This position manages DHA IT Infrastructures utilizing SCCM Current Branch and Tanium Core Platform, to include Threat Response, Comply, Discover, Deploy, Patch, Protect, Integrity Monitor, Asset, and Map modules.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Manages DHA IT Infrastructures utilizing SCCM Current Branch and Tanium Core Platform, to include Threat Response, Comply, Discover, Deploy, Patch, Protect, Integrity Monitor, Asset, and Map modules.

Installs, configures, and maintains the Tanium platform and modules at the proper approved release levels.  Assists End Users in the deployment of the Tanium client. Performs ongoing maintenance to ensure server health, including database and server maintenance.

Installs, maintains and administers the Tanium instance, to include granting access, managing permissions, setting up workflows and the proper 2-person integrity for actions and other required administrative actions.

Modifies the SCCM configuration and Server Management System (SMS_DEF.MOF) to collect information from the registry and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) repository. 

Analyzes SCCM and Tanium log files and the current enterprise configuration.

Troubleshoots and helps remediate sites experiencing SCCM and/or Tanium issues.

Assists with migrating user files and settings using migration tools, such as Microsoft User State Migration Tool (USMT).

Monitors ongoing operations and sustainment activities for potential problems, improvements, staffing issues, and End User shortfalls.

Utilizes default and ad-hoc reporting tools to provide asset, software, and hardware intelligence, software and hardware metering, and license management reports. 

Produces and updates SCCM, Tanium, and SQL reports for enterprise and customer needs. 

Utilizes PowerShell, WQL and SQL to develop new reports and modify existing reports.  Delivers reports on routine and as needed basis. 

Generates standard and dynamic reports in multiple formats such as web based, MS Excel, PDF, etc., per customer’s request.  Manage and maintain EM Dashboards.

Provides patch management support and maintenance window operations. 

Validates deployment plans for compliance within existing performance limitations of the enterprise servers’ software. 

Provides a status report before and after updates and remediation actions are executed.

Creates, updates, deploys, troubleshoots, and removes objects in the SCCM and Tanium environments, sites, distribution points (DPs), and clients based on provided guidelines. 

Creates, updates, and deletes dynamic and static collections and groups, reports for installation, modification, and removal of applications.

Creates custom test environments to provide proof of concept before implementing into production. 

Maintains disaster recovery capability and procedures for the SCCM and Tanium environments. 

Maintains and updates daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly checklists for enterprise configuration management and preventative maintenance. Sends notification to customers and groups prior to and after implemented requests or modifications.

Designs and delivers applications and application packages using available enterprise management products and tools that provide scripting capabilities for MHS/DHA enterprise delivery. 

Manages application baselines and configurations and fully test integration leverage VMware and virtual design and delivery models. 

Understands and integrates STIG settings into applications and packages for compliance. 

Provides IAVM compliance for applications and application packages. 

Thoroughly evaluates, validates, and executes application packages and validation cases, and ensures that packages provide detailed logs.

Documents and provides evaluation results.  

As required, works with site administrators to troubleshoot package deployments, removals, and modifications.

Creates desktop, EUD, and server images utilizing technologies such as Business Desktop Deployment (BDD), Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), Windows Deployment Services (WDS), Windows Pre-installation Environment (WinPE), Windows Automated Installation Kit (WAIK), and Pre-Boot Execution Environment (PXE). 

Creates, implements, and deploys images for enterprise workstations and servers. Develops and documents processes to deploy zero-touch images (ZTI) for an enterprise environment utilizing SCCM OSD.  Maintains and updates imaging documentation. 

Creates custom OSD Task Sequences utilizing Microsoft scripting technologies and components, such as PowerShell, VBScript, WMI, .NET and XML for captured images.

Assess and validates non-standard hardware / software, to include new enterprise SCCM OSD related products, to ensure operability in the enterprise. Provides a report on results. 

Provides enterprise administrators with current drivers for assigned hardware within the OSD process. Ensure appropriate drivers are used for assigned hardware.  Adds, distributes, and installs images.

Provides senior level technical support for troubleshooting of OSD related issues.

Sends notifications to customers and groups prior to and after implemented requests or modifications.

Manages and operates the ITC environment, ensuring system performance and availability requirements are met.

Develops ITC processes for establishing testing environments. Ensures changes are not implemented in ITC environments without appropriate approvals and documentation.

Resolves ITC incidents and problems.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four (4) years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience. Experience working in or with Defense Health Agency or other military medical environment. Experience leading or supporting one or more SCCM implementation projects.

3-6 years of experience with SCCM.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION

IAT-II - one of the following: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP

MCSA or MCSE

ADP II Position of Trust prior to commencing work

Must be a US Citizen

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professiona1journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
