The Systems Administrator II provides support to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for the integration of CNI Core Competencies into daily functions, including: commitment to integrity, knowledge/quality of work, supporting financial goals of the company, initiative/motivation, cooperation/relationships, problem analysis/discretion, accomplishing goals through organization, positive oral/written communication skills, leadership abilities, commitment to Affirmative Action, reliability/dependability, flexibility and ownership/accountability of actions taken.
Supports the Tier 2 (Continuous Operations) 24x7 operations mission. Maintains and troubleshoots enterprise level products and services, including hardware (servers and end-user devices) firmware, and software.
Triages, troubleshoots and resolves issues involving server patches and configurations, software issues and scheduled maintenance events. Utilizes Information Assurance tools to validate proper installation and function of deployed security patches and solutions.
Modifies, creates and configures Active Directory (AD) User Accounts; recovers and restores AD objects. Supports mobile computing and end user devices to include resetting and configuring devices. Identifies and troubleshoots SCCM and Tanium issues related to patches and servers. Troubleshoots and resolves DAR issues.
Performs administrative tasks on Enterprise server and end-user clients, extends scheduled lockout condition, initiates data recovery operations and unlocks machines as required. Installs, administers and performs password management for Enterprise software.
As required to resolve issues, remotely accesses government equipment. If unable to resolve an issue, escalates to Enterprise Operations (Tier 3). Provides the de-escalation path back to the MTF or lower tier.
Monitors enterprise assets via SCOM, Quest Suite of Tools, and other related applications. Ensures core services are maintained at normal production levels with no unplanned service interruptions. Creates and distributes Unscheduled Downtime Report (UDR), SITREPs, After Action Reports (AAR), Information Papers and EXSUM documents for critical service outages and/or unplanned interruptions. Documents and updates incident(s) (via Remedy) with information relevant to the incident and/or outage.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field of study and a minimum of four to six (4-6) years’ of relevant experience. Experience working in or with Defense Health Agency or other military medical environment. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience with systems administration.

IAT-II - one of the following: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP
MCSA or MCSE
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
