SUMMARY

The Web Developer II supports the activities of the 72nd ABW by designing, developing and maintaining knowledge base websites and interactive database applications used for storing, reporting, measuring and evaluating data used by 72nd ABW IT personnel.  This includes applications used to disseminate information to customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for the integration of CNI Core Competencies into daily functions, including: commitment to integrity, knowledge / quality of work, supporting financial goals of the company, initiative / motivation, cooperation / relationships, problem analysis / discretion, accomplishing goals through organization, positive oral / written communication skills, leadership abilities, commitment to Affirmative Action, reliability / dependability, flexibility and ownership / accountability of actions taken.

Write scripts in Javascript, PowerShell, SQL, and other languages.

Performs website hosting on MS SharePoint and other platforms.

Develops automation for tools and processes to increase team performance.

Participates in the development of new web pages that are specific to the 72nd ABW.

Provides expertise utilizing structural query language (SQL) database back-end capabilities and HTML / portal technology to accomplish results.

Automates, manages and evaluates web pages, publications, multimedia, databases, systems and applications.

Works with the server-side Application Developers and Designers to build web applications.

Develops front-end web pages using HTML / XHTML, Dynamic HTML, Java and CSS.

Utilizes Abode Acrobat Professional, Photoshop, Flash and other software, in an Active Server Pages (APS) server-side scripting environment to ensure the development of a professional product for 72nd ABW.

         

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize output.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to any training made available by the company.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and Human Resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Web Design, Web Development or a similar field of study and a minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in application / database development; or equivalent combination of education / experience. 

CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION

Security+ Certification is required

Ability to obtain government security clearance

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

Advanced knowledge and understanding of software development languages (.NET, ASP.NET, C#, SQL, JavaScript, HTML 5 / CSS, Web, XML)

Working knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Performance Life Cycle (EPLC) support, and back office application support

Skilled proficiency related to MS Access database management systems

Proficient working knowledge of Windows server administration

Proven ability to conduct network / application troubleshooting

Ability to interface and link SQL services to web based applications (ASP) and to utilize database management best practices

Operational knowledge of Web creation and development

Exceptional computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, etc.)

Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to assess business requirements

Ability to collaborate with others for the timely achievement of designated goals and accomplishments

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Excellent customer service skills

Detail-oriented with ability to proactively identify problems and effectively respond

Ability to use discretion concerning highly sensitive and confidential data and information

Ability to effectively work individually or in a team environment

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations such as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
