SUMMARY

The Facilities Safety Manager supports the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services National Records Center (NRC) and File Storage Facility (FSF), Records Operations Support Services (ROSS), ASRC Field Services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provides supervisory support to onsite records management and maintenance staff.

Provides supervisory support to staff during shifts, weekends & holidays. Serves as liaison to management for operational notifications, communications and operational task assignments.

Responsible for providing onsite supervision to ensure efficient workflow and shift personnel exchanges for the NRC and FSF locations.

Observes and monitors facility staff and safety practices.

Responsible for the promotion and tracking of safe work practices.

Must be available to work daylight, afternoon, midnight, weekend and holiday shifts as needed, depending on location.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to any training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Prior experience in a warehouse/office environment or in security, policy, military, facilities, or equivalent work experience preferred, but not required.

CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION

This position requires possession of or the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

Demonstrated knowledge in industrial safety and OSHA regulations with ability to develop and implement viable safety plans / measures

Working knowledge of standard safety program reporting processes and procedures

Knowledgeable of government and military safety regulations and reporting requirements

Skilled in facilitating teamwork and coordinating efforts for the successful achievement of goals

Excellent supervisory and management skills with ability to resolve conflicts, grievances, confrontations or disagreements in a constructive manner

Ability to present self in a highly professional manner to others and understand that honesty and ethics are essential

Ability to maintain a positive attitude

Ability to maintain a professional relationship with all coworkers, supervisors, managers, customers and client representatives

Decision-making and customer service skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to use all relevant electronic and communication devices

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
