Executive Vice President, Logistics Svcs
The Executive Vice President for Logistics Services (EVP) within the CNI Defense Division provides strategic growth leadership and direction to grow the Division’s overall revenue and associated profits. The EVP will do this through the use of their own subject matter expertise (SME) and come to CNI with an existing knowledge of the customer, their requirements and points of contact within each of their customer targets. This position collaborates with the VP of Operations, LLC Managers, Division BD, Capture personnel, assigned shared service personnel and CNI Holding Company executives to develop joint business opportunities and capture plans for each. The EVP coordinates business development initiatives across multiple LLCs and lines of business within the Defense Division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supports business development activities according to strategic account plans.
Responsible for program / project management and quality assurance of deliverables on client engagements.
Supports the Defense Division President on daily functions, including: strategic planning, fiscal responsibility, profitability, supporting financial goals of the Division, team building, initiative / motivation, collaboration, relationships, problem analysis / resolution, risk management / mitigation, and goal setting / attainment.
Works with CNI Defense Division leadership team to contribute to the development of five-year and ten-year strategic plans for the division. This plan will establish the baseline for evaluating at a minimal 8% YOY profitable revenue growth. Works with and alongside the VP of Operations to ensure contract profits are achieving anticipated bid margins or better.
Responsible for business development and supporting proposal initiatives related to defense initiatives as outlined within the Defense Division Strategic Business Plan.
Directs and oversees the company’s business development activities, including existing business relationships and the identification of new client opportunities.
Provides leadership and direction to the Defense Division employees, partners, subcontractors and vendors to facilitate collaboration and synergy in goals, objectives and deliverables of client engagements.
Participates in the development of new opportunity proposals as well as re-compete proposals.
Initiates and owns their individual Defense Division Pipeline on an ongoing basis and provides input for mid-course corrections to annual projections.
Provides leadership and strategy for the development of proposal efforts. Assists in establishing and implementing short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.
Maintains a safe and fair work environment for employees and business affiliates.
Other duties may be assigned at the sole discretion of the Defense Division President.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or greater preferred. A minimum of twelve (12) years’ experience in Defense Programs, proposal development and contract management, or equivalent combination of education / experience on Defense contracts. Knowledge of federal contracting rules, regulations and laws. Knowledge of Federal employment laws and Service Contract Act (SCA) requirements.
CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION
This position requires possession of or the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Functional understanding of the Federal bidding process with ability to draw out the majority of the business requirements and mid-level technical requirements for the Defense markets
Advanced knowledge and understanding of Defense Logistics, Defense Contingency Operations and/or Defense IT markets with ability to anticipate customer needs / solutions
Knowledgeable of various aspects of government programs with ability to present viable solutions related to current or potential customer needs
Operational knowledge and understanding of federal government business cycles, acquisition lifecycles, and RFQ / RFP bid processes
Applicable understanding of FAR and Government budget processes
Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills with the ability to effectively interface with senior management and public officials
Exceptional prospecting and follow-up skills
Ability to organize work, set priorities, manage multiple projects simultaneously and maximize personal performance through time management
Exceptional management and negotiation skills with ability to find mutually acceptable solutions
