Contingency Planning / Disaster Recovery Analyst
The Contingency Planning / Disaster Recovery Analyst (Temporary Position) will be responsible for aiding in the creation, implementation, and operation of a number of emergency response programs and activities that include Disaster Recovery (DR), business Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP), and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP). This position will perform duties that include emergency response activities such as documenting plans, providing plan awareness, testing and executing plans, and reviewing and recommending technologies to support emergency response.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Helps to develop an Agency Disaster Recovery (DR) Contingency Planning (CP) plan.
Conducts periodic business impact analysis.
Ensures key activities are addressed within Disaster Recovery, IT Contingency, and IT COOP plans.
Establishes and maintaining call lists.
Establishes and maintains recovery tiers for critical systems and applications.
Participates in Agency DR, CP, & OIT COOP Planning activities and meetings.
Assists System Owners with the development of Contingency Plans compliant with NIST SP800-34. Reviews and updates no less than annually or upon significant change.
Advises Agency stakeholders regarding the documenting and verification of recovery times.
Provides COOP support related to information.
Assists with the development, testing and maintenance of continuity of operations, IT contingency, emergency management and business continuity plans for information systems.
Ensures that the necessary ISCP, DRP, OIT COOP and Test, Training and Exercise (TT&E) policies and procedures are adequately addressed within existing policy and procedure documents.
Provides support in the testing and exercising of select plans.
Prepares and submits reports that cover lessons learned during testing / reviews of ISCP or DRPs. Ensures test results are captured in the CTRs. Provides recommendations to improve CP & DRPs.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field of study and a minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in Contingency Planning / Disaster Recovery (preferably NIST based); or a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in Contingency Planning / Disaster Recovery (preferably NIST based). Must have at least one (1) year of prior information security experience.
