Subject Matter Expert (SME) III – Systems Analysis
The Subject Matter Expert (SME) III – Systems Analysis provides support to the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), Food Applications Regulatory Management (FARM) project. This position provides technical, managerial, and administrative direction for problem definition, analysis, requirements development, and implementation for complex to extremely complex systems in the subject matter area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Applies principles, methods and knowledge of the functional area of capability to specific task order requirements, advanced mathematical principles and methods to exceptionally difficult and narrowly defined technical problems in engineering and other scientific applications to arrive at automated solutions.
Assists other senior consultants with analysis, evaluation and with the preparation of recommendations for system improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts in the following specialties: information systems architecture, networking; telecommunications, automation; communications protocols, risk management/electronic analysis, software; lifecycle management, software development methodologies, and modeling and simulation.
Performs analysis of current customer mission requirements, and current business processes, tools, and technologies to identify and document improvements to optimize customer productivity and customer satisfaction.
Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of organizational program operations to meet established goals and objectives.
Presents detailed information to senior leadership and others on key initiatives and strategies.
Assists with developing data collection procedures and recommends analysis methodologies for determining program requirements.
Communicates key information resulting from special studies, projects, and other department initiatives through correspondence and/or reports.
Conducts studies of work processes and procedures. Conducts requirements analyses and prepares program specifications.
Recommends changes and additions as appropriate.
Provides technical assistance, consultation, and briefings as required.
Works both independently and as a team member.
Serves as a resource for team members and clients. Helps to ensure an effective and positive work environment by establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to any training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize output.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and Human Resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education / experience.
