The Mechanic is responsible for the overall truck maintenance for Bullet Energy Services on behalf of Chickasaw Nation Industries, Inc. (CNI). This position is responsible for maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles and tractor/trailers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops, implements and achieves operational plans, objectives and work standards of the LLC. Establishes strategic and tactical plans for key performance and profitability goals. This includes developing strategic and tactical plans that can promote and achieve added value through future growth opportunities.
Ensures compliance with current industry standards and regulations. Complies with all applicable federal and state regulations; and assures that appropriate safety procedures for trucking operations are in place and followed.
Diagnoses and repairs medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers, including preventative maintenance, inspections, repair to air and hydraulic brakes, tires, warranty procedures, driveline, steering and suspension, electrical, and overhaul and engine rebuilds, with safety as the top priority.
Identifies, diagnosis, and resolves tractor and trailer related issues, i.e. Rand McNally, tachometer, speedometer, power steering, power divider, U-joint, transmission, rear end, A/C, starter, alternator, APU, etc.
Diagnoses and repairs trailer components such as doors, floors and side panels.
Performs preventive maintenance (PMs) on tractor and trailer equipment including routine technical repairs and completing repair orders.
Remains technically proficient in all areas of the shop including tractor, trailer, tire, and basic parts administration.
Performs general or routine welding with or without prints.
Uses effective interpersonal skills to maintain positive working relationships with team members and external vendors.
Utilizes appropriate resources, such as parts manuals, computers, service bulletins and other resources to research problems, determine most effective and efficient method for repair and to locate parts.
Documents work order details. Ensures proper documentation is complete, including permits, repair orders, filing, etc.
Abides by all Company policies and safety rules and assist in maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
Uses all Personal Protective Equipment as required.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to any training made available by the company.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.
High School Diploma and a minimum of two (2) years relevant transportation / trucking mechanic experience; or equivalent combination of education / experience. Two year certificate from a technical school preferred. Diesel Mechanic experience required.
CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION
Must have a valid Class A CDL driver’s license

Knowledge of industry laws and regulations (i.e., EPA, DOT, OSHA, etc.)
Basic computer knowledge to include diagnostic software
Knowledge in diagnosing and properly repairing mechanical, electrical and tire problems on tractors and trailers
Understanding of electrical hazards and safety
Knowledge of oil and gas waste disposal equipment
Demonstrated Tractor/Trailer maintenance skills
Ability to work with mechanic's hand tools
Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines
Ability to troubleshoot, determine the best course of action, and to appropriately escalate unusual issues or matters of concern, when needed
Ability to make sound, well-informed and objective decisions and to perceive the impact / implications of decisions

Flexible with ability to work a variety of shift assignments, including overtime, during inclement weather conditions, as well as weekends and other non-traditional work shifts
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
