SUMMARY

The Configuration Management Specialist maintains configuration management procedures and policies, records and documentation, as well as physical accountability of hardware and software assets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs configuration management for all program related artifacts to include deliverables, source files, reports, and all related documentation.

Supports Program team in the administration of the Online Management System (OMS) and data library and ensures proper storage of all deliverables, source files, reports and project related.

Monitors performance of team to ensure that the applications of customer standards and requirements for the statement of work are properly implemented. 

Performs various audits and documents results. Develops configuration and data management documentation based on program requirements. Identifies requirements and participates in the development and implementation of computer-based configuration/data management systems and related support.

Responsible for configuration control during product development phase.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.  

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers.  Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources.  Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four (4) years related experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Proficiency in document development with ability to implement a high degree of professional judgment and a clear understanding of the information to be communicated

Excellent creative development skills with ability to quickly comprehend technical information and translate ideas / concepts

Excellent research and analytical skills

Excellent computer skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Ability to respond to requests in a professional, helpful and timely manner.

Ability to identify problems and to use sound judgment.

Outstanding communication, organization, and problem solving skills.

Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple, diverse projects simultaneously.

Ability to be flexible, independent and self-motivated.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.

The pay range for this role is $65,000 - $75,000, with the final offer amount dependent on location, skillset, and experience.
