IT Enterprise Architect
The Enterprise Architect leads CNI’s company Enterprise Architecture and Strategy Team defining the direction and vision for how technology, processes, and people integrate to enable CNI’s corporate and operations out. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role is responsible for developing and communicating the architectural blueprint that shapes the organization into a modern, resilient, and cloud-enabled enterprise. The Enterprise Architect ensures alignment of all technology investments with company strategy, client priorities, and CNI’s evolving IT strategic roadmap. Reporting to the C-suite, IT teams, and Operations teams, the Enterprise Architect converts business needs into scalable, practical, implementable, and cost-effective IT solutions.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated ability to establish and socialize architectural vision, roadmaps, and principles guiding large-scale technology and digital transformation programs.
Proven skill in translating business strategy into actionable architectural plans that inform technology investment, delivery, and operationalization.
Experience directing major initiatives in cloud modernization, data and analytics platforms, and AI/automation integration.
Deep knowledge of architecture governance, security-by-design, and compliance requirements, including familiarity with FedRAMP, data governance, and AI/ML risk management.
Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with the ability to engage effectively at the executive, technical, and client stakeholder levels.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provides primary architecture guide for company-wide transformations, including cloud modernizations and standards, IT Roadmapping, application portfolio management, and the maintenance of the technology stack.
Partners with cross-functional teams to ensure IT projects, investments, and assets adhere to standards and drives business goals.
Leads architecture governance activities with clear decision rights, structured reviews, security alignment, and risk management standards.
Maintains an up-to-date catalog of the company’s IT capabilities and integration capabilities, enabling project delivery and cost transparency.
Improves IT project success rate and company reputation for delivering innovative, reliable results across our federal programs.
Creates reports and presentations for senior management to support the IT enterprise, investment insight and strategic priorities.
Builds and nurtures strong relationships with internal teams, external advisors, and industry contacts to enhance collaboration, streamline due diligence processes, and support comprehensive evaluations of potential investments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Security, Computer Science, Engineering, or a technical related discipline. Masters degree in IT-related discipline desired. Eight plus (8+) years experience in enterprise architecture leadership roles within complex, multi-sector organizations serving Federal Civil, Defense, and/or National Security clients.
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS/GCP/Azure Solution Architecture).

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.

The estimated pay range for this role is $110K to $140K, with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
