Data and Logistical Support Technician - Part Time
The Part-Time (PT) Data and Logistical Support Technician provides clerical and administrative laboratory support for the environmental organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry and biology departments at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 1 Laboratory. This position handles sensitive equipment, providing support in chemical rinses/treatment and preparation for short-term storage of upcoming sample analyses. Data and Logistical Support Technicians are responsible for reporting findings. Must have experience in data collection and interpretation, as well as storage and retrieval of samples in laboratory settings.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to obtain government security clearance.
Good organization and time-management skills
Ability to practice and promote required safety standards
Working knowledge and ability to review, interpret and apply technical manuals, technical instructions and standard operating procedures in all aspects of quality assurance
Knowledge and ability to collect data, process forms and compose reports
Excellent verbal and written communications skills with ability to interact effectively with a variety of personnel
Proficient skills using Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Follows all policies and procedures to ensure product integrity and quality control.
Supports Analyst in chemical or physical laboratory tests to assist in making qualitative or quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, or gaseous materials.
Ensures that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintains a clean and orderly environment.
Maintains various databases, such as hazardous waste data, chemical inventory data and laboratory information data.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and a minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is primarily performed in an office/clinic/lab setting. Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The work requires light physical exertion. May be required to perform handling activities with lightweight or easily moved items (e.g. books, file folders, boxes of office supplies, small machine parts, lab samples etc.). May perform movement activities for brief periods. May operate light equipment. Must be able to perform repetitive motions for brief periods. May be confined to a work area. The work environment involves moderate hazards, risks or discomforts. Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and use hands along with fingers, to handle or feel. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. May be required to lift, push or pull 50 pounds or more using cart or hand truck. Specific vision abilities required by this job include clarity of vision both near and far. Ability to speak and hear. Ability to identify and distinguish colors. Potential for exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Potential for exposure to blood borne pathogens. May be required to wear safety and personal protective equipment.

The estimated pay range for this role is $17 to $22, with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
