HR Business Partner - Corporate

The HR Business Partner is responsible for ensuring alignment between the business operations and the HR practices and objectives. The HR Business Partner acquires and maintains a full understanding of the company’s strategy, vision, and mission. Provides appropriate solutions using experience, data analyses, and organizational agility to guide the decision-making process. This includes assisting with developing strategic and tactical plans that can promote and achieve added value through future growth opportunities.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to pass a background investigation.

  • Human Resources experience in Federal Government Contracting experience preferred.

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills with attention to detail.  

  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.

  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.

  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and prioritize multiple tasks. 

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Fosters and promotes the integration of CNI Core Competencies and values at all levels within the company.

  • Maintains the upmost level of integrity as it relates to highly sensitive matters. Examples include, but are not limited to; HIPPA, PII, CNI business information, employee relations issues, salaries and other confidential information.

  • Proactively collaborates with managers and employees to foster and sustain a culture of responsibility, accountability, and compliance.

  • Works to maintain an effective level of business literacy about the business unit’s financial position, strategic plans, culture, and competition.

  • Collaborates and develops partnerships across the HR function to deliver value added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the company.

  • Responsible for delivering comprehensive HR processes to ensure successful employee lifecycles and work experience strategies.

  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Participates in team and business operation meetings.

  • Provides consulting and coaching to department managers in support of the company vision, mission, and business objectives.

  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to include counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions.

  • Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations to help resolve employee issues. Provides recommendations for resolution of issues that are consistent with legal requirements, company policy and practice.

  • Assists in in analyzing HR trends, and metrics to identify and help develop solutions, programs, policies, and procedures.

  • Helps identify training initiatives and activities designed to improve individual or group job performance.

  • Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to any training made available by the company.

  • Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

  • Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance with all applicable rules (federal, state, local, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Code of Federal Regulations, Prime Contract requirements, etc.) for themselves and the company as a whole. Fosters an environment in which they will report any violations or reasonably suspected violation of CNI policy, FAR, and/or CFR and are comfortable discussing the myriad compliance, conflict, FAR, CFR, etc. issues that arise during the performance of a government contract.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Five percent (5%) to ten percent (10%) travel may be required.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in a related field of study and a minimum of four (4) years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.

The estimated pay range for this role is $55K to $110K, with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
