Records Processing Technician
The Records Processing Technician supports the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Payment Error Rate Measurement (PERM) program for Medicaid and Children’s Health and Insurance Program (CHIP). This position is responsible for the timely processing of records received for PERM reviews.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Processes records received via mail, fax, secure email, and the secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) in the document management system.
Scans, indexes, and performs quality reviews of records received to support PERM Medical and Data Processing reviews.
Files and destroys hard copies of records in accordance with approved procedures.
Understands and abides by CNI security and HIPAA policies including patient information confidentiality.
Supports the call center by following up with providers who have not sent in records since the first request was submitted.
Records all results from contacts in call center database.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education / experience. Experience with medical record formats and content.
