The Network Administrator provides server and system network support for the Air Combat Command (ACC), Communication Support Squadron (CSS), within the United States Air Force (USAF).This position provides daily support, local administration, configuration, and maintenance of voice, video, and data transport and associated routers, switches, voice systems, voice-over-IP, video bridges, information transfer nodes, and communications closet wiring.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Installs, configures, manages and maintains switches, routers, hubs, access points, voice, video, data systems, and other infrastructure devices as well as all related hardware and software.
Performs internal network management, fault notification management, DNS/DHCP administration and installs and administers wireless network devices.
Ensures security by maintaining secure configurations, fixes and encryption. Maintains network encryption devices.
Monitors network performance and performs troubleshooting/restoration actions.
Manages, operates, maintains and monitors secure data links.
Initiates, maintains and manages document connections, circuits, trunks and equipment.
Responsible for operations, configuration, and maintenance of voice, video, and data transport and associated routers, switches, voice systems, voice-over-IP, video bridges, information transfer nodes, and communications closet wiring.
Creates and maintains documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes and service records.
Receives, prioritizes and responds to incoming work orders, calls, and/or emails regarding equipment and/or connectivity problems.
Plans, designs and develops local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs).
Analyzes and resolves wireless local area networks (WLAN) hardware and software problems in a timely manner.
Troubleshoots and repairs issues on remotely accessed networks.
Troubleshoots, repairs and upgrades local development servers and work stations.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related filed, or equivalent combination of education / experience. Experience in providing or supporting installation, configuration, maintenance, and administration of an organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), network segment, intranet, and/or other data communications system is required.
Network Administrator – 8C – Level 3 (required degree + 6 years of experience)
Network Administrator – 8C – Level 2 (required degree + 4 years of experience)
Network Administrator – 7C – Level 1 (required degree + 2 years of experience)
CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION
Must be able to obtain Department Of Defense Top Secret Clearance
CCNA-Security certification and/or Security + required with enrollment into the CE program within 6 months
